I am truly sorry for your loss. Claire was a brilliant, beautiful and inspiring young lady. Not only was she a valued lifeguard, but she was an amazing discovery camp leader. Everyone Claire came in contact with fell in love with her. She could always make a terrible day better with just a few words and her bright smile. Claire will remain in my memory forever. The most prominent being going for doughnuts after Taekwondo class together when we were young and the summer we worked together at Discovery Camp. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Jones'. Claire will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Claire had a reputation for being a loyal friend, but she didn't just make friends; she made family. I remember the first time we worked together at the pool she put on a garbage bag as a dress during a break. From then on, there was hardly a day that wasn't filled with hijinks if Claire was around. Lockers filled with rubber ducks, confetti cars, post-it treasure hunts... I'm so grateful for the light she brought into my life. Teaching lessons with her was one of my greatest joys. My sincerest condolences to everyone who must endure this loss. Claire was vibrant, kind, strong, and an exceptional role model. She will be in my heart forever.

Words cannot express my condolences to the Jones' family. I was fortunate enough to have met Claire last year, while she attended university with my daughter. I have wonderful memories of the weekend she spent with us in our home in Clearwater. Claire was kind, spirited, genuine...always a smile on her face and full of life. May the treasured memories that she left behind live in the hearts of all that knew her beautiful soul.

We had the privilege of babysitting Claire Bear and her little brother Clarke for two years. Claire and our son Riley were both four when they met. We spent so much time together that Claire and Clarke were like family. Claire and Riley went to play school together, shared birthday parties together and started kindergarten together. Riley and Claire loved to play dress up together and Claire would always dress up like a princess and Riley a pirate. Claire and Riley went to school up to the end of grade four where Claire was the class recipient of the Christian Leadership award. We then moved away, lost touch, yet never forgot Claire's unique, one of a kind personality. Claire was the most mature, loving and intelligent little girls we've ever met and she had an amazing vocabulary that would put most adults to shame! Hearing of Claire's tragedy has devastated our entire family. We truly loved little Claire Bear. Our hearts are heavy, our tears flow. Our thoughts and prayers are with Randy, Linda, Clarke, Graham, Nathaniel and little Abigail. No words can dull the pain or the emptiness they feel yet we pray for their emotional healing and a path to carry on. November 12, 2013 Claire received her wings, and with these brave wings she will fly.
Rest in Peace Claire Bear.

To Linda & Randall - There are no words to express the depth of sadness felt at the loss of your child; your beautiful daughter Claire for whom you have given your heart and soul. To Clark, Graeme, Nathaniel and Abigail – your sister who was your playmate and confidant guards over you from a new place now, just on the other side of the magic curtain that separates us from heaven. Wishing you strength and much support in the days and weeks to come. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Take care.

Dear Linda and family

My sincere sympathy in the loss of your precious daughter and sister. I recall seeing the picture of your lovely family when we visited the department a couple of years ago.

The poem "The Weaver's Shuttle" came to mind when I saw Claire's picture:

Not til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly,
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver's skillful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

Sincerely, Mildred

To the Jones Family:

Although Claire and I didn't know each other well, we knew each other through school and church. In her short lifetime, she touched many people's lives without knowing it. I will always remember Claire for exchanging smiles with me when we saw each other around Hinton and for her amazing red hair. She was a vibrant, polite and accomplished person who was devoted to showing kindness to everyone and anyone; she will always be remembered in that fashion. I am deeply sorry for your loss and wish you all the best in this difficult time.

Jones Family...
When I looked at the picture of Claire and Riley on this website, it opened a flood get of warm memories. I was fortunate to teach her in kindergarten, her first year of school. This is how I still remember and think of her...as a beautiful little girl with fiery eyes and a dynamite personality, someone who was well loved by all the students and staff. I recently saw an old picture of her and I together at a school Christmas concert. I smiled when I recalled she was dressed as an angel that night. She will always be that little angel in my heart. God bless you all during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
